About me
I am an experienced web designer and have completed a formal education that includes a diploma in graphic design. With my graphic design background, I have both a designer’s eye and the technical ability to create customized websites using various content management systems.
WordPress and Craft CMS are two content management systems that I know particularly well. I have the ability to write code from scratch for these two platforms and can create truly customized solutions. The structural and programming languages I have experience with are: Html5, Css3, JavaScript, Php, and Twig. While in the graphic design program at Algonquin College, I have had experience using the following graphic design software packages: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Acrobat, After Effects, and Cinema 4D.
In addition to my background in Graphic Design and Web Design, I have also attained a skill set in digital marketing. I have worked on social media campaigns using Facebook Pixel to track website visitors coming from Facebook, and also used Facebook Audience Insights as well as Google Analytics. Along with my experience in marketing I have also gained expertise in SEO. I have done keyword research using tools, such as: Keyword Tool and KeySearch. I have also optimized content for SEO using Website Auditor.
I had the opportunity, in a co-op placement, to work at an Ottawa based printing company, Allegra Print and Imaging, where I acquired experience working in the printing industry. I became familiar with the printing process as it relates to the field of graphic design. In previous industry positions that I have held, as well as during my time at college, I collaborated extensively with others and have the skills to work along side others and be an effective member of a team.
After my formal schooling, I took online courses to enhance my skills. I studied topics related to graphic deign and web development and am in the top 0.1% of students on Team Treehouse.
